Pang Kwan, Kevin, “Lento Religioso” (2021) for cello quartet performed by Quartetto Zuena (Federica Castro, Carla Scandura, Francesco Tanzi and Simone Cricenti) at the highSCORE Festival 2021, online edition. «This is a slow piece composed for cello quartet. In this piece, I try to portray a meditative and religious mood. The piece features a chorale-like opening. Throughout this piece, I mainly use triadic harmony, but at the same time, I try to maintain smooth voice leading in different parts, so as to create certain effects with the changes of harmony.» (Pang Kwan, Kevin)
